Located in West Hollywood, KINARI is a purveyor of traditional Japanese cuisine from the esteemed Chef Yukinari Yamamoto.

Our specialty is Aburi ( flame-seared ) sushi and homemade plant based ramen . What is aburi-style sushi? For those who don't know, Aburi is a type of sushi that originates from Osaka, Japan, meaning “torched sushi”. The flame takes the sushi’s texture and flavor to the next level. It will partially cook the fish and leaves no ‘fishy’ taste. This is more receptive to children and newcomers but also gives veteran sushi lovers a new and exciting way to enjoy sushi.

PLANT BASED RAMEN

When you think of Japanese cuisine the first two items people normally consider are sushi and ramen. Ramen is one of the most famous and beloved noodle dishes in Japan as well as Udon and Soba (buckwheat noodles). Traditionally Ramen doesnt offer a vegan or even a vegetarian option. Chef Yamamoto decided he wanted everyone of his guests to have the opportunity to try this beloved and iconic Japanese dish. Most Ramen dishes are made with a meat based broth and topped with Chashu, egg, Chicken ect. He substituted the meat broth with a delicious Kelp Mushroom and Onion base broth. We offer a variety of different toppings to enhance whatever ramen you decied to go with.

Eventually we’ll offer a variety of Imported Japanese craft beers as well as Sake. We’re also proud to present to you only the best fish handpicked by Chef Yamamoto himself such as the succulent Blue Fin Tuna. There are 3 decadent parts of Blue Fin Tuna, Akami (regular part), Chu Toro (fatty part) and Oh Toro (the fattiest part).

Kinari's interior, reflects the modern hip sensibilities of the surrounding area. The restaurant offers a few different dining experiences. One is the choice to observe passers-by on our patio. Another is in our beautiful dining room, or lastly to watch the art of cooking as it occurs on our open-kitchen sushi bar. Chef Yamamoto and us here at KINARI would like to invite all customers who are veteran sushi lovers as well as newcomers to sushi, to come and try this new way to enjoy sushi.
